(Hamsayeh.Net) - Iran's new atomic energy director Ali Akbar salehi in his first interview after taking the post said that the West should cease hostilities towards Iran and close the nuclear file.

'Legal and technical arguments about Iran's nuclear case have ended and there is no room left for continuing to keep the case open.'

Western countries have been trying to spread negative publicities regarding Iran's peaceful nuclear program. The west pretends that Iran is trying to use the technology to make nuclear weapons but Tehran has proven on more than one occasion, the technology is directed towards peaceful purposes only.

'We hope more efforts will be made by the Westerners in order to obtain mutual confidence instead of hostilities of the past six years and look forward to seeing the case closed as soon as possible,' Salehi said.

Ali Akbar Salehi became Iran's new nuclear chief earlier this week when Mahmoud Ahmadinejad accepted Aghazadeh's resignation. Former Head of Iran's Nuclear Energy Organization, Gholam Reza Aghazadeh was at his post for over 12 years.
