Islamabad, Pakistan – Chairman of Mass Communication Department of Allama Iqbal Open University, Dr. Syed Abdul Siraj on Tuesday held west responsible for creating unrest in Iran .
Talking to IRNA, he said west is taking advantage of an administrative mistake that had happened in the Iranian Presidential elections otherwise the problem was not of a serious nature.
“ Iran is a very large country and this kind of administrative mistake could happen in any country”, Dr. Syed Abdul Siraj said.
He was of the view that the political situation in Iran is complex and was hopeful that every thing will be resolved soon. Analyst said that western media have intruded in the internal affairs of Iran and are taking advantage of the situation that has erupted after the Presidential elections.
“West has no right to interfere with the internal affairs of Iran ”, he said.
Dr. Syed Abdul Siraj added that being a close friend of Iran he is worried on the situation and prayed for the stability of Iran .
He opined that rule of law and social equality are the two main factors that make Iran a true democratic state. “ Iran deserves better future and stability, this should not be happened", he added.
He was of the view that west has to change its mind set towards Iran if it wants to have good relations with Iran . "There is no room for U.S. and west to be concerned about Iran 's political situation ", he opined.
"May be west is using those elements who are disappointed with the result of the election to accomplish its designs against Iran ", Dr. Syed Abdul Siraj believed.
Expressing his views on the news published in media that west is instigating ‘soft revolution’ in Iran, the analyst said that there should be a soft revolution in Iran but to the extent of scientific and economic development.
“Yes I agree that west is accused of instigating soft revolution in Iran which is really unjustified”, he added. Dr. Syed Abdul Siraj was of the view that the democracy in Iran is very impressive as compared to the democracies of the Muslim world.
To a question about the future of U.S.-Iran relations Dr. Syed Abdul Siraj opined that U.S. has to change its policy towards Iran .
He said that U.S. is running out of recourses, there is an economic turmoil in U.S. and these problems could only be solved if U.S. maintains good relationship with Iran , which has extensive resources.
