Tehran, September 07, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on his last day of visit to Tehran announced his country would export petrol to Iran, ISNA reported.
The US and its allies consider the ban on petrol export to Iran as one of their wildest cards in a series of though sanctions if Tehran refuses to abandon its nuclear program by the end of this month.
In contrast with the bullying powers, Chavez has always supported Iran's peaceful nuclear programs and defended the country's legitimate right to access the technology.
The Iranian Student News Agency -ISNA- quoted Chavez as saying that starting in October this year, Venezuela would export 20.000 barrels of petrol per day to meet Iran's fuel consumption.
On his last day of visit to Iran, Chavez travelled to Mashad- a city in northeastern Iran - alongside his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The Iranian President while in Mashad said, 'The two-day visit by Mr. Chavez to Iran was very fruitful and very suitable agreements were reached.'
The two states signed further agreements in Mashad in the fields of commerce, oil and pharmaceuticals, state media reported.
