US Backtracks, Ships More Arms to Israel

In the New Deal The US Will Supply More C-130J Aircrafts to Israel.

March 26, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - In apparent u-turn, the United States government has agreed to supply additional aircrafts to Israel despite the latter’s defiance on the construction of large apartment unites in East Jerusalem.

In the deal, the US agreed to supply over 250 million dollars worth of Hercules C-130J aircraft to the Israeli army as part of a larger military aid to this tiny state in the Middle East. Israel receives over $3 billion in aid from the US government but the money is in fact being paid by average American citizens through their taxes.

US' pay rolling of Israel helps the tiny Middle Eastern state to enjoy a robust economy at a time when the US itself is mired in a prolong recession with no end in sight.

The US since the end of WWII associates its historic missions in global affairs in conjunction with Israeli activities in the Middle East. For this reason Washington has become Israel’s largest arms supplier pumping over 2 billion dollar worth of armaments into Israeli defense needs each year.

Some of the arms shipments also defy international rules for arms exports. The US has secretly shipped offensive weapons such as cluster bombs or banned phosphorous bombs that are considered as offensive weapons to Israel over the years.

Israel has been able to expand its territory

over the years by receiving direct military assistance from the US
