Another Bomb Explosion in Russian Dagestan

The main bomb was equal to 5kg of TNT using booby trap device placed a few meter on the railway system.

April 04, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - A powerful bomb blasted along the Russian-Azerbaijani railway in Dagestan province this morning, causing derailments of eight cargo wagons, but no casualties.

The train was travelling from Moscow to Azerbaijan when the incident happened. Today’s bombing followed one last week. Earlier two Chechen suicide bombers attacked a police station in the Dagestani town of Kizlyar killing 12 police officers.

Last week two female suicide bombers attacked Moscow’s metro station killing over 40 people. Chechen leader Doku Umarov issued a statement taking responsibility for the bombings. He promised more severe retaliations would follow if Russia does not withdraw from what he named the Caucasus Emirate immediately.

‘The first results of an investigation started early Sunday suggest that this explosion is a continuation of a terrorist attack by North Caucasus rebels that began March 29,’ an investigator told Russia’s Ria Novosti.

On today’s bombing early reports indicate that the main bomb was equal to 5kg of TNT using booby trap device placed a few meter on the railway system.
