April 07, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - In the ongoing tension between Afghan national President Hamid Karzai and the occupying forces, a NATO spokesman claimed the alliance had made enormous sacrifices for bringing peace to Afghanistan.

 

Contrary to what many analysts believe is the reason behind years of occupation of Afghanistan, the NATO spokesman James Appathurai claimed the alliance made enormous efforts and sacrifices in Afghanistan. ‘We hope and expect that this is recognized by the Afghan people, including at the highest levels,’ Appathurai said.

 

In reality, the US-led invasion of Afghanistan has been part of Western grand design to control Central Asia’s energy routes and cordon off China’s access to Energy riches of the Middle East. This explains why the alliance wants to prolong its stay in Afghanistan under the pretext of fighting the Taliban since 2002.

 

The nationalist Afghan President Hamid Karzai, blamed the occupying forces for massive corruption in his country, killing of innocent civilians using drone attacks and seeking to prolong their stay in Afghanistan. Karzai accused foreigners of perpetrating fraud during the last presidential election in August. He eventually threatened to join the Taliban if he feels outside pressure is hindering his efforts to bring peace to Afghanistan.

 

Meanwhile, in Washington White House spokesman Robert Gibbs attacked Karzai’s remarks saying his comments about the US and its allies were ‘genuinely troubling.’

 

The spokesman uttered these words against the Afghan President following NATO’s latest confession over a US cover up scheme in which some US troops killed two pregnant women, one teenage girl and an innocent police officer in eastern Afghanistan last February. Soon after the incident, realizing that they has made a big mistake, US troops removed the bullets from inside the victims bodies lest there should be an investigation later on. 

 

Despite Afghan President’s calls for an end to such criminal activities against innocent people, the US said it plans to cancel Karzai’s upcoming visit in May. The white House said it would consider canceling Hamid Karzai’s visit to Washington in May because of his troublesome remarks.
