April 21, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - In a new poll conducted in the United States released on Monday, more and more Americans have grown critical of their government particularly since Barack Obama took office.

Most people across the US are asking that government’s power must be curtailed and more power should be given to people and their true representatives. ‘By almost every conceivable measure, Americans are less positive and more critical of government these days,’ says a report from the non-partisan called Pew Research Center.

According to the new survey, ’a perfect storm of conditions associated with distrust of government - a dismal economy, an unhappy public, bitter partisan-based backlash and epic discontent with Congress and elected officials.’

Over half of the population now opposes the unrepresentative government's control of the economy. The United States government in association with major corporations, financial bodies and other influential lobbies has taken full control on people’s public and private lives in the country since the September 11 attacks.

The terrorist attacks on the September 11 have also come under intense scrutiny since many experts and ordinary people question the validity of US government’s explanation of the events.
