 Toophan (Typhoon) Attack Helicopters Delivered to the Iranian Navy

  

Toophan is an attack helicopter equipped with high-tech Multi-Function Display (MFD), Head-Up Display (HUD) and advanced telecommunications system.

 

Isfahan, May 01, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Today on the anniversary of a major operation during 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war called operation Beit-ol-Moghadas, 10 Iranian manufactured Toophan (Typhoon) military helicopters delivered to the Iranian Navy.

 

Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi attended the ceremony at the assembly plant in Isfahan Province, central Iran. Vahidi told reporters,’ Achieving the goal of self-sufficiency is a great stride and national honor for the country’s aircraft industry.’

 

Also today, the Iranian aircraft manufacturing industries revealed their latest production line of high-tech helicopter rotor blades made out of composite materials unlike the usual metal designs.

 

Toophan is an attack helicopter equipped with high-tech Multi-Function Display (MFD), Head-Up Display (HUD) and advanced telecommunications system. It has a powerful 20-milimiter gun and a pair of rocket launchers.
