Like it or Not, Iran Has Long Joined the Nuclear Club

They are supposing that if Iran is threatened with sanctions it will give up its nuclear program.

Tehran, May 08, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Tehran’s Friday Prayer speaker senior cleric Ahmad Khatami reminded the Western powers of Iran’s entrance to world’s nuclear club and suggested that they should understand this reality.

According to Khatami those seeking to denuclearize Iran should stop short of implementing whatever plans they have in mind for there’s no return to pre-nuclear period. ‘By God’s grace, Iran has entered the world countries’ nuclear club,’ he told the audience at the Friday Prayer gathering.

Like being  struck with a thunderbolt the United States and its usual allies seem quite disoriented by Iran’s progress in the field of nuclear science. Washington and allies still think of outdated policies in a way that classifies Iran as not yet a nuclear power. They are supposing that if Iran is threatened with sanctions it will give up its nuclear program.

The United States, Britain, France and Germany at least publicly try to push for further sanctions against Iran by middle of next month. Khatamai said, ‘If you should want to stand up against this religious (Islamic) system you would be standing up against the religion of God, and if you should want to confront our religion we will endanger your entire world.’
