US Considers its Recent UN Performance Flawless

President Ahmadinejad coming to the UN, the dinner last night… I read these as signs that the government is quite worried: US Official.

May 08, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - US officials continue to downplay Iran’s effective role at the nuclear conference currently underway in New York.

On Friday, the US State Department director of policy planning, Anne-Marie Slaughter repeated her usual diatribes against Iran’s role at the conference as another sign of growing worries. She criticized Ahmadinejad’s speech during last Wednesday opening ceremony in which the Iranian President demanded an international condemnation of arrogant nuclear powers such as the United States, France and Britain.

The US official told reporters, ‘President Ahmadinejad coming to the UN, the dinner last night… I read these as signs that the government is quite worried.’ Slaughter added, ‘they are always trying to block, but… they are even more actively engaging right now to try to stop anything that will make them more isolated, I read that as some sign of our success’

Known for having an aggressive attitude toward the international community Obama administration officials often blame other countries for their long list of failures. For instance, considering this historical fact that the US and its WWII allies, France and Britain are the only countries which have practically ignored NPT regulations by supplying weapons grade nuclear material to a non-NPT member i.e. Israel, they keep on blaming other countries for NPT shortcomings.

Representatives from the US, France and Britain staged a show last week when they cleared the conference hall during the Iranian President’s speech, as the world watched.
