May 28, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - United States' recent announcement on Tehran nuclear agreement have caused frustrations even amongst West's long-time allies.

Today, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan advised world nuclear powers particularly the United States to dismantle their nuclear weapons immediately and stop making propaganda against Iran’s nuclear program.

‘When we hear people talking about stopping Iran getting nuclear weapons -- who are they to talk against the idea of having nuclear weapons, those who talk like that should eliminate nuclear weapons from their own countries.... That's the only way to be convincing,’ AFP quoted Erdogan as saying at a UN conference on cross-cultural understanding in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

United States’ reaction to Tehran nuclear agreement was overly negative given the fact that it was U.S. itself asking for such agreement ever since Iran began to enrich uranium fuel for its sole medical reactor. Soon after the agreement was signed White House announced it is going to push for economic sanctions falsely claiming the Security Council members including China and Russia would supports economic sanctions.

According to a specialist in Middle Eastern studies William Beeman, the United States is frustrated because it wants to show off strength and diplomatic power at the UN as if it’s playing a soccer match. ‘The US is interested in winning at any cost as a diplomatic quo to show its strength,’ Beeman said. ‘The United States is actually opposing own proposal by asking Iran to halt its uranium enrichment as it was the Obama administration that put forward the proposal for Iran to ship its low enriched uranium to a third country,’ he added.
