Tehran, June 22, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iranian Revolutionary Guards official Brigadier General Rostam Qasemi offered to help end the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico if it receives a formal request, Iran's Mehr News Agency reported.

He said, ‘If Americans and Britons and also the Western companies find themselves incapable of capping the oil spill, (they can) ask Iran, (we) will study the case, and send… IRGC experts to the region to help prevent the continuation of this serious crisis.’

The massive oil spill caused by British Petroleum lack of competencies rushing to extract oil out of the offshore drilling rig in that environmentally pristine area have caused the single greatest environmental disaster throughout history.

British Petroleum officials had tried to downplay the extend of this disaster saying only 3 to 5 thousand oil barrels is being spilled into the sea while maintaining the company would stop the leak in just a few days. Now after two months the oil spill has reportedly increased to around 100,000 barrels a day and BP quite unable to contain the damage.

Right now huge amounts of crude cover southern shores of the United States, particularly in New Orleans area all the way down along the Gulf of Mexico.

The disaster is endangering the lives of many people living in those areas while the US President Barrack Obama - who is known to be a good friend of large corporations - is covering up on behalf of BP by using his trademark double-talk tactics.
