US Hawks Maul Military Attack on Iran

One day Iran would be prevented from becoming a ‘nuclear power’ either through economic sanctions or through military actions: Israeli-Supported US Senator Joe Lieberman.

July 08, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - US hawks continue on with their threatening and at times contradictory anti-Iran remarks even when the prospect of US-led western economies falling into yet another gigantic recession grows.

US Senators Joe Lieberman, John McCain and Lindsey Graham met in Israel apparently to discuss US and Israeli launching of an aerial strike on Iranian nuclear installations. John McCain said he did not believe Israel had any impending plans to attack Iranian nuclear installations any time soon.

Right-wing US Senator Joe Lieberman on the hand said that even if Israel doesn’t attack, the United States would be prepared to do so. ‘One day Iran would be prevented from becoming a ‘nuclear power’ either through economic sanctions or through military actions,’ said Israeli-supported Joe Lieberman. The other US Senator Lindsey Graham reiterated US support for Israel if it decides to launch an attack against Iran.

Coincidently, a top Iranian nuclear official has recently announced that Iran had already reached the point of no return in its pursuit of a peaceful nuclear program. Head of Iran Atomic Energy Organization, Ali Akbar Salehi said yesterday Iran has reached the point of no return, a term usually referred to as a condition when a country’s nuclear know-how reaches a point when it is no longer possible to stop its progress.

In line with increasing anti-Iran rhetoric, the Persian Gulf state of UAE ambassador to the United States Yousef al-Otaiba in an article published by Washington Times on Wednesday, advocated a US military attack on Iran, supposing that it was better to live with ensuing damages caused by such an attack than to do nothing about it.

Government officials in this tiny Persian Gulf emirate are often very close family members of the Sheikh including cousins, uncles, brothers, son-in-laws, brother-in laws etc.
