Iran, North Korea and Cuba Parliament Speakers Meet in Geneva

Iran is ready for any possible incidents and is well aware of the ongoing developments in the region. If the US makes such a mistake, it will pay dearly: Iranian Majlis Speaker.

July 21, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iran’s Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani attending an Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) conference in Geneva met his parliamentarian counterparts from two of the world’s leading nations and staunch opponents of global arrogance namely the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Republic of Cuba.

On Tuesday, The Iranian Speaker Majlis Speaker met his Cuban counterpart Ricardo Alarcon. Larjani said Iran and Cuba enjoy excellent relations and stand united against bullying powers.  According to Larijani, the United State’s suffers from a lack of courage to launch a military strike against Iran, Mehr news agency quoted Larijani as saying.  ‘Iran is ready for any possible incidents and is well aware of the ongoing developments in the region. If the US makes such a mistake, it will pay dearly,’ said Larijani. The Cuban head of Parliament for his part said, ‘The US tries to hide facts. It pursues an illogical attitude to Iran,’ adding that western powers have launched a media propaganda against Iran.

Ali Larjiani also met his North Korean counterpart Choe Thae Bok reiterating Iran’s full support for the common goal of countering US imperialism. Currently, Pyongyang with full backing from the global community is actively countering US meddling in Eastern Asia.

Larijani hailed the long-standing friendship between Iran and North Korea. He thanked North Korea and its leaders for their support and contributions to Iran following the Islamic Revolution in 1979.

The Korean Parliament Speaker once again expressed his country’s support for Iran’s peaceful pursuit of a domestic nuclear program.  Choe Thae Bok criticized the international community’s double standard saying, ‘...it is not fair that the Security Council cast doubts on Iran's nuclear activity while it turns a blind eye to Israel's nuclear weapons,’ ISNA reported Choe Thae Bok as saying.
