Ahmadinejad Addressed The UN General Assembly

The Iranian President recommended an independent UN panel to investigate the events of September 11, thus clarifying questions surrounding this issue.

September 24, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - The Iranian President delivered his much anticipated speech at the UN General Assembly held in New York on Thursday.

According to Ahmadinejad today most world leaders, top academicians and internationally renowned analysts wonder how could the 9/11 attacks have taken place given so many discrepancies surrounding the events. He told the UN hall, ‘although we are very saddened to see some 3000 killed in the events of 9/11, it is completely irrational to launch a classic war through widespread deployment of troops in other countries killing and wounding hundreds of thousands of ordinary people, to counter a terrorist group.’ As quoted by Press TV on Thursday.

Ahmadinejad also said, ‘some segments within the U.S. government orchestrated the attack to reverse the declining American economy, and its foothold in the Middle East, in order to save the Zionist regime.’ Reuters reported.

As a sign of protest, some delegates from a small group of nations including the US, UK and France cleared the United Nation’s General Assembly hall while Iran’s President was delivering his speech. This isn’t the first time that representatives of this small group of marginalized nations led by the US leave the UN hall as they hear what most people around the world would like to hear addressed.

Ahmadnejad recommended setting up of an independent UN panel to investigate the events of September 11, thus clarifying questions surrounding this issue. He also called on the UN to annul the right of veto for certain members at the UNSC.

The Iranian President further pointed at the Zionist regime’s atrocities against the Palestinians and other members of the international community. Coincidently, this week an independent UN panel officially blamed the Israeli regime for murdering Turkish humanitarian activists on board Gaza aid flotilla in May 2010.

The panel concluded that Israeli troops used excessive force against unarmed civilians delivering food and medicine to besieged people of Gaza. On that early morning hours, the IDF troops using wartime weapons, raided several Turkish ships in international waters and summarily executed nine innocent Turkish activists.

‘This regime (Israel), which enjoys the absolute support of some Western countries, regularly threatens the countries in the region and continues publicly announced assassination of Palestinian figures and others, while Palestinian defenders ... are labeled as terrorists and anti-Semites,’ said the Iranian President as quoted by Reuters.
