NATO Defends Raid On Armul in Afghanistan

 

Tehran, Dec. 08, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Twin events rocks Afghanistan and Iraq on Tuesday. In central Baghdad four to five  separate car bombs blasted through Iraqi Labor Ministry, a court complex an a new building for Iraq’s Ministry of Finance killing over 126 people.

 

This is the second time Iraqi Finance Ministry was attacked by bombs where a previous building was demolished by an August blast.  Four of the car bombs exploded within several minutes of each other and another one was driven by a suicide bomber ramming his vehicle into a police station at Al-Dora neighborhood in southern Baghdad.

Elsewhere in war-torn Afghanistan soldiers belonging to Afghan depilated army shot four civilians to death in Armul in northern Afghanistan during a demonstration against a recent NATO-led attack this one also on civilians on Tuesday, Reuters reported.

 

The peaceful demonstration was severely crushed by Afghan soldiers, which the government said killed six civilians including one woman.

NATO issued a statement saying they raided militants’ outpost killing seven and arresting four fighters. But provincial governor dismissed NATO claims and said the raids killed 13 civilians. Witnesses say they saw the body of a woman and 12 men, including two teenagers during burial ceremony.

 

After the NATO-led bombardment about 5000 local villagers held a demonstrations to protest against the attack when suddenly Afghan soldiers opened fire from a vehicle killing and wounding several people in an instant.
