US system is incompatible with the life of humanity
Dec. 10, 09 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Cuba’s Revolutionary Leader, Fidel Castro, wrote the US and NATO troops are the real occupiers of Afghanistan that commit great violence and not the former Soviet Union, in an article titled: ‘Obama’s cynical act was uncalled for’, published on Wednesday on Cubadebate website.
The legendary leader of Cuba blasted United States arrogance over the killings of so many innocent children and elderly in Iraq and Afghanistan under the pretext of waging a war against terrorism soon after the Sept. 11 events.
According to Fidel Castro the American people are themselves prisoners of a system that runs contrary to human values. ‘The American people are not the culprits but rather the victims of a system that is not only unsustainable but worse still: it is incompatible with the life of humanity.’ Castro wrote.
On Obama’s policies and decisions that many feel are too often very contradictory, Castro noted ‘The smart and rebellious Obama who suffered humiliation and racism in his childhood and youth understands this, but the Obama educated by the system and committed to it and to the methods that took him to the US presidency cannot resist the temptation to pressure, to threaten and even to deceive others.’
Castro had these words for US President’s receiving a Nobel Peace Prize, which also carries with it yet another contradiction as to the real purpose of giving such an award to someone. Fidel Castro says, ‘Many will feel that he has yet to earn the right to receive such an award. Rather than a prize to the President of the United States, we choose to see that decision as a criticism of the genocidal policy pursued by more than a few presidents of that country who took that nation to the crossroads where it is today. That is, as a call for peace and for the pursuit of solutions conducive to the survival of the species.’
And the Revolutionary Leader of Cuba wrote these words on Obama’s latest decision about sending additional troops to Afghanistan, ‘ … it is clear now that Obama was paving the way for his remarks of December 1st, 2009, in West Point. That day he made a thorough analysis. He carefully chose and produced 169 phrases aimed at pressing the right "keys" that would win him the support of the American people for a certain war strategy. Cicero´s diatribes would pale beside his assumed postures. That day I had the impression to be listening to George W. Bush. His arguments were no different from the philosophy of his predecessor, except for a fig leaf: Obama was opposed to torture.’
Cuba under the leadership of Fidel Castro, has not only been able to withstand years of economic sanctions, wars, clandestine activities by its next door neighbor the United States, but it also achieved one of the world’s highest levels of human developments in education, health, medicine, sports and scientific research.
