NATO Bombs Target Civilians

3 More Children Killed by NATO Air Strikes

Kabul, Jan. 01, 10 -  (Hamsayeh.Net) - NATO air strikes killed 8 more Afghan civilians in a village near Lashkar Gah in Helmand province. The latest attack followed after NATO forces were ambushed by a group of Taliban fighters.

It isn’t clear why the air strike was ordered on the village nearby since according to reports none of the Taliban fighters was present near the village at the time. NATO and US conduct sporadic air attacks that not only lack targeted purposes but also kill many civilians instead. The latest attack did kill 3 children from the village.

Ordinary Afghans who normally do not support any particular factions are becoming so angry that many of them want  to join Taliban against the NATO and the American forces. This incident follows another attack  two days ago on a village in southern Kunar province. The attack killed 10 people 8 of them school children.

Military analysts believe these kinds of desperate air strikes on Afghan civilians indicate that coalition forces’ military planners have no idea where Taliban fighters are as they are more of a mobile force superbly familiar with mountainous terrains’ of their homeland.

In 2010, very likely  the coalition forces will end up realizing that they cannot win the war in Afghanistan and it is better for them to withdraw immediately before facing major defeats in Afghanistan.
