Iran's Missile Power Beyond Enemy's imagination: D.M.

Jan. 10, 10 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iran’s top military official visited a missile command centre of the IRGC’s Navy on Sunday. General Brigadier Ahmad Vahidi, Iran’s Defense Minister praised the country’s technical achievements in the field of missile technology, which has integrated fully into Iranian Industrial infrastructure.

Vahidi warned the enemies of Iranian missile capabilities. ‘The deterrent power of the Islamic Republic of Iran's missiles goes beyond the enemies' imagination,’ he said.

Some Western countries regularly embark upon media campaigns against Iran’s progress in various fields including in the nuclear technology. ‘Despite the negative ploy and poisoned propaganda launched by the enemies, the deterrent power of the Islamic Republic of Iran in different aspects, including its missile equipments, serves as a means of attaining national and regional security and blinding the greedy eyes of the aggressors and repelling the possible aggression of the sworn enemies of the Islamic Republic,' the Defense Minister told reporters.

Iranian missile technology began to take a giant leap forward soon after the end of Iraqi imposed war
against Iran in the 80’s with green lights from certain arrogant powers. Currently, the country’s missile capability enjoys a wide range of short to longer-range missiles. The IRGC recently test fired a newly designed Sejjil missile with the range of over 1500 km. The Sejjil is a two-stage solid fuel missile capable of carrying 1000 – 750 kg warhead with outstanding precision over long distances.

Iran’s other missile is called Shahab, a word-meaning meteor in Persian, which is a liquid powered missile with range of about 1500 km with a one-ton warhead. The Iranian Navy also test-fired a shore-to-sea missile during the annual military drill in the Persian Gulf waters, called Saqeb (piercing). It is built by Iranian defense industries, enjoys immense firepower,  considerable range and is designed for launch from any type of floating site.
