New Anti-Helicopter Weapon Unveiled

Iran's Supreme Leader Urges Speedier Scientific and Technologic Progress.

February 02, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iran’s Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, urged the country’s speedier advancement in the fields of science and technology.

‘The outstanding progresses made during the last three decades are not satisfactory and we are standing in a far distance from the world's scientific peaks,’ Fars News Agency Quoted Ayatollah Khamenei as saying. Ayatollah Khamenei said there should be greater efforts by Iranian elites to close the technological and scientific gaps that hinder country’s further progress.

In other news, on Tuesday a top military official announced Iran has developed a new surface-to-air missile capable of bringing down the legendary American Apache chopper without much difficulty.

Colonel Nasser Arab-Beigi, the head of IRGC’s self-sufficiency Jihad Organization described the weapon as a missile that could easily penetrate the toughest amours including ones used with US manufactured Apache attack choppers. He explained,  ‘Enemies should not imagine that if their Apache choppers have shown a mighty and desirable performance in Iraq and Afghanistan, they can show the same might and power in a possible aggression against Iran. We will certainly put an end to the power of their Apaches through our measures.’

United States’ military is heavily dependent on its enormous air power to launch military attacks on other states. During the initial stages of the Iraqi invasion in 2003, US air force conducted thousands of sorties to crush Saddam Hussein’s ground forces. The US ground forces later entered Iraq only when the Iraqi army could not put up major resistance against US troops.

The new weapon could easily penetrate toughest armors with ease.
