Canadian and US Hawks Behind the Recent Unrest: Hugo Chavez

They are attacking Venezuela in an attempt to unleash violence and destabilize the situation in the country.

February 07, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez accused both the United States and Canada to have been behind the recent right wing extremists' demonstrations throughout the country.

Chavez said, ‘The United States and its allies, such as the ultraconservative Canadian government, are attacking Venezuela in an attempt to unleash violence and destabilize the situation in the country.’

During the demonstrations thousands of right wing groups poured into streets of major cities protesting the government’ new social and economic reforms. Police used tear gas to disperse the crowds. Ironically, waves of similar demonstrations have swept around the world in recent months, evidently caused by increasing levels of unemployment, poverty and social uncertainties.

Historians and analysts believe following the end of the Second World War, Western dominated global capitalist system that relies mainly on cheap and abundant natural resources - especially oil and gas - which created the current bubble of wealth as we know today, is approaching its end. The financial crash of 2008 was the beginning of a major systemic problem that soon or later must be addressed and replaced with a more rational system if humans wish to continue living on this planet.

President Chavez pioneered a series of programs to actually reduce the impact of the global capitalist crisis but there are always some who continue to be unsatisfied with those realistic changes.
