US and NATO to Introduce a New Weapon Against Taliban

Tank-like Bulldozer with Heavy Armor to be Deployed During the Upcoming Offensive.

February 12, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - NATO and US forces in Afghanistan say there are preparing for a major assault on  Marjah a supposed Taliban stronghold in southern part of the country within the next few days.

The assault called ‘Operation Moshtarek’ or joint operation plans to take over a strategic area, from under Taliban control.

Taliban commanders already issued warnings to foreign forces in Afghanistan that they will face tremendous resistance from battle hardened Taliban fighters. Taliban officials explained that they are preparing for ambushing tactics to inflict losses on US and NATO forces and deploy IED mines to slow down troop movements around Marjah battle zone.

The NATO and US forces also revealed their latest weapon of choice for use during Marjah offensive in the next couple of days. It is called ‘The Breacher’, a large bulldozer with heavy armour all around that is able to plough through soil and destroy mines.

Before the beginning of the assault local residents have been asked to stay in their own homes while the battle rages on. But many local residents are leaving their villages to safer areas because they fear there would certainly be major gun battles as Taliban vowed to defend their positions.
