Iran's Nuclear Program Fully Legitimate

FM Spokesman Urges China and Russia Pursue a Realistic Approach Toward Iran.

Tehran, February 16, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman during a weekly press conference today called on Moscow and Beijing to be more realistic when it comes to making threats of sanctions and other types of political pressures against an independent country that pursues its legitimate rights within the international regulations, IRNA reported.

Ramin Mihman-Parast said Washington is trying to mislead the international community from dangers posed by the Zionist regime and instead propagate false allegations against Iran. He noted that Washington’s efforts against Iran have so far failed due to unrealistic approaches by consecutive US administrations.

Meanwhile chairman of the joint chief of staff, Admiral Michael Mullen during a visit to Israel reiterated dangers of conducting a military strike against Iran. This is the second time Mullen warns of unintended consequences from a military strike inside Iran.

He told senior commanders of the Israeli army about the dangers of military adventures as it could trigger a wider war beyond control.  'I'm still hopeful that diplomacy and sanctions and dialogue will achieve' results,' he said. Mullen explained that he believes a new round of more stringent sanctions on Iran would dramatically increase pressures on Tehran to halt its thriving domestic nuclear program in the near future.

Iran has already said no matter what type of sanctions Washington is speaking of, it would under no circumstances forego the country's rights to peaceful use of nuclear technology.
