US Dispatched its Fourth Submarine to The Persian Gulf

BREAKING NEWS

The United States has deployed its fourth submarine in the Persian Gulf region following the deployment of three others near the Bahrain Port: Press TV.

November 03, 2010 (Hamsayeh.Net) - US military on the eve of midterm elections in the country dispatched a fourth nuclear powered and armed submarine to the Persian Gulf near the coast of Bahrain, a small island serving as the biggest US and its allies military base in the region.

According to a Press TV report Wednesday, the USS Abraham Lincoln and French Charles de Gaulle aircraft carriers are also joining other forces including USS Harry Truman and fifty-three smaller vessels in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

Press TV said, there are now a total of thirty combat vessels belonging to US, France and UK stationed in the region. Last year, there were reports of German-built Israeli submarines also heading toward the Persian Gulf.

Heavily oil-dependent US, French and British joint -enterprises view the Persian Gulf as the most vital area to their own interests due to abundant oil and gas resources of the region. Analysts however believe continued US-led military brinkmanship in the strategic Persian Gulf region would lead to unwanted consequences and that eventually could trigger a third world war.
